Case Study on Aged Women Living Alone in Jeju

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to understand the experience and meaning of aged women living alone in Jeju, 2012. This research carry out a qualitative in-dept interview with 4 elderly women living alone in 3 times. All interviews are tape-recorded and transcribed verbatim for the analysis. The data is analyzed using the reflective qualitative technique, Yin(1989)`s case study. Three dimensions of living alone, that is, overall life, experiences and meanings, support systems and services. The aged women living alone have hardships in financial, health, housing environment, boring, abused and discrimination. Based on the results, this study suggests policy and services for elderly women living alone.
